Desk Inspiration

My mom recently moved to a new house. I'm super excited about it as my room is currently a blank canvas besides the bedframe. With all of my items packed up in boxes, I'm itching to pick out a bookshelf and desk to keep my items stored on. I've been scrolling Pinterest for inspiration lately.

My room has incredible lighting as I have a big window that light streams in through all day. I love natural lighting! My walls are painted white which just makes the natural lighting bounce off the walls. My lighting situation is seriously so great.

With my white walls, I'm drawn to white desks to keep the room feeling light and airy. I really like the openness of the room. I've been loving white desks with monochrome displays over the desks. I think my room will have a bit more color than some of these pictures, but I still really love the vibe they give off.
I love the G print. I think it would be cool to do a monthly calendar in this style. I think everything looks so put together. You have so much storage but it's not all shown. I really like the actual desk.
The picture hangy thing (I wish I knew what it was called) makes everything look neat and organized while still allowing color to be present. I think this would like nice in a smaller version underneath my desk. For a DIY version, I'm thinking I could do this with chicken wire.
I really like the desk's simple drawer. It looks like it might a bit shallow. I've always had a really deep desk as I like to spread out so the actual desk might not work for me. I think the gallery wall is a cute idea. Once again, I like how similar everything looks.
I love the simplicity of the design. It doesn't feel overcrowded. I have so many random pens, papers, and office supplies. I would have to find a creative way to store them if I did a setup like this.

I'm excited to see what direction I go with for my desk. Hopefully, I can get it all setup before school starts.

My iPhone Case

My iPhone case broke a few months ago right before spring break. I duct-taped it together with plans to get a new one after spring break. Now, its the end of June, and I just I got a new case. You could say I'm a bit behind.

In my quest to find an iPhone case I had two requirements. First, it needed to fit my iPhone 8 Plus. Second, I needed to have some sort of phone wallet. Whenever I go places, I just carry my phone with my cards, keys, and water bottle. I like that I don't need to carry a wallet. Plus, it makes it super convenient with everything I need in one place.

After a bit of research, I quickly discovered I'd have to get the same case if I wanted a phone wallet. While I liked my old case, I didn't want to buy the same case. So, I came up with a creative solution. I could pick out any phone case and add a cardholder to the back.

I didn't want to cover my iPhone case with my card holder and not see any of the case. This meant I needed to get a single color case or a striped or polka dotted case. I decided to go with a single color case.

In the end, I chose Casemate's Tough Clear Case for iPhone 8 Plus. The case popped super easily onto my phone, which is awesome as some cases can be hard to finagle on. My school gave me a black card holder so I have that on there. While I would've loved a colorful case, I'm happy with my practical iPhone case.

Step Into My Week: Portland, Oregon

As I'm writing this, it's been exactly a year since I last posted a Step Into My Week post. I love reading my old posts so I'm hoping to get back into writing them. Can't say they'll be a weekly post. I'm thinking a small goal of a monthly Step Into My Week post would be good for me. We shall see.

I recently took a trip to Oregon to tour the University of Oregon and to explore the Oregon coast. Somehow I'm more obsessed with the Pacific Northwest than before. It's so magical. The trees. The vibe. The vegan food. You name it, I love it.

When I went to Portland last summer, I went to the vegan mall. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to go again. I got the same delicious vegan ice cream I got as last time. The most exciting part for me was the cone. Most cones have some sort of dairy in them, so I was very excited to eat the cone.
We went to the Portland Japanese Garden. This place is absolutely beautiful. I was so amazed by the small tree plants they'd been growing for decades. They all had such intricate detailing. Doesn't the garden look so peaceful?
The International Rose Garden is right to the Portland Japanese Garden. It's definitely worth battling the traffic to go to these two spots. The Rose Garden has an excellent view of the city. Plus, the roses are just magnificent. I went in late May when only a few of the flowers were blooming. All the flowers had bloomed when I went in mid-June last year. No matter what, you'll see some flowers if you visit in the summertime. I captured this picture of the tennis court because it amazes me that you can be surrounded by roses while playing tennis. Maybe, I'd play tennis if I lived there?
We went to Powells Book Emporium. This place is absolute magic! Rooms and rooms with rows and rows of books. What's not to love? I ended up choosing a book that was a diary of a bookseller. Seemed very fitting.
We took the Columbia River Highway toward Mt. Hood. The fog against the mountains made for stunning pictures.
Here's a goofy picture of me in a park ranger hat. I actually really like it. It would've been perfect for hiking.
