This past week was jam packed. I absolutely love staying busy. I always try to stay busy. In the summertime, I want to be making the most of my break from school. I definitely made the most of summer this week.
To start off the week, my Grandma came into town. We had a great time together. My mom actually thought she was driving in on Saturday because she misread her text. It was pretty hilarious to find out my Grandma showed up at my door and completely spooked my mom.
My phone had been acting up for about a week on Friday. Luckily, I had an Apple appointment to get it fixed. The guy helping us gave me a new phone for free. That was pretty sweet.
We ended up having a pretty chill weekend of hanging out. We took my Grandma to Ponce City Market. I absolutely adore the mushroom bao buns from the Korean place. They let me buy a few bao buns. I was snacking on them for the rest of the week. They're so good.
On Sunday, we ventured out to a cute home decor and art store that had just opened up in the Westside. They had amazing art and pillows I want in my room. After that, we went to Upbeet, the place you've seen all over Atlanta Instagram feeds. The food was fantastic. The Vegan salad completely knocked it out of the park with the delicious tofu. I'm definitely going back.
I've been working at a camp for a while now. My campers are truly the best. I love seeing their faces light up as we go on adventures. Sadly, I only got to spend Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday with them, since I was going to Kiawah Island.
My uncle had a work conference that was in Kiawah Island, so he invited me along to babysit my cousin. I had an absolutely amazing time. The weather was amazing considering it's normally miserably hot and humid.
We ended up spending most of our time at the pool. They have some gorgeous pools. I loved the view of the beach from a pool. Seriously, the views were amazing. Plus, my cousin really loved the food at the pool.
Board games are the best anytime of the year, but at the beach they're even better. My cousin, Claire, and I ended up spending an entire morning playing Uno, Monopoly, Chess, Trouble, and Sorry. I could play Uno for hours.
We rented bikes while we we're in Kiawah. It was great to be able to go everywhere. The bike ride from the place we stayed at to the pool was gorgeous. I definitely want to ride my bike more after this week.
The best part of the week was seeing my friend, Bekka, from BBYO. She's incredibly kind hearted, loving, and an all around blast to hang out with. We had lunch at a delicious cafe called Five Loaves in Mt. Pleasant before adventuring into downtown Charleston. Charleston is just lovely. I loved all the brightly colored buildings. Everyone seemed so happy to be in such a beautiful city.
That's it for this week. I've definitely been slacking in the blog world. I'm hoping to get back to blogging more frequently soon. I end up so tired each night after working at camp all day.
