August Lust List

August Lust List
This Summer flew by in the blink of an eye! I’m back on track with blogging now with posts going live every Monday and Thursday at 9 am EST. You can see from my Step Into My Week posts that I was out of town or working most of the summer. I was a little busy, but I wasn’t too busy to forget about the August Lust List.

BBYO is starting back up. With BBYO, I have lots of needs for casual dresses. I’m still digging tie dye like a few months ago. I actually got some tie dye shorts from Forever 21. Anyways, I’d love any of these dresses. The blue and white striped shibori really has my eye.

I’ve been loving rompers lately. I had a grey simple romper that sadly got lost. Luckily, the grey (and black) version is an easy replacement. The added twist in the front is so cute. The light pink and leaf romper is adorable. It makes me so happy to look at.

Fall season is right around the corner. With that, comes sweater season. Atlanta weather is normally a little too hot for a sweater, but these cardigans look like the perfect option. I love how they’re a little longer so you’ll be plenty comfortable in them.

Step Into My Week: High Museum & BBYO

BBYO

Theater really began to start last week. We learned how to work tools that we hadn't learned before. Additionally, this year's theater group is amazing. I'm seriously so excited for this year. We had our first theater dinner on Thursday. It was so great to get close with the actors for the play.

On Friday, my friend Catie slept over. We had a great time hanging out. It was tons of fun. We mainly goofed off with my sister.

On Saturday, I got to go to the High. The Andy Warhol exhibit is closing up really soon, so I was super glad I got to see it. The art was absolutely beautiful. All of the art came from one collector's amazing collection. It was insane to think how much art the collector had gathered.

My BBYO chapter had a family brunch this weekend. It was really great to see members who didn't go to kickoff. The event overall was really fun.

Step Into My Week: Orientation, First Day of School, and LTI

This past week was absolutely amazing. So many of my favorite activities started last week. It was a great start to the year.

I'm an orientation leader for my school. We had our orientation on Monday. I was paired with the sweetest girls. I absolutely love my school, so it was awesome to show them around answer any of their questions. One of the girls on my tour happens to be one of my good guy friend's sister, so that was cool!

I absolutely love the first day of school. I don't get to see all of my friends during Summer, so it was amazing to see all of my friends again. Each grade always does a cute skit to help new kids learn everyone's names. One of my friend's named everyone last year in a little competition, so we recreated that competition. It was super cute. The teachers did an amazing job coordinating their skit.

The rest of the first week of school was pretty great. Overall, I'm pretty happy with my teachers and classes. I'm super pumped about my journalism and English classes this year.

Theater also started. This year's fall play is going to be amazing. We have an insanely big cast (25+ people), so it will definitely be interesting to see how this production pans out. I know it's going to be fantastic. The costume ideas are absolutely amazing. I'm so excited about this year's productions.

BBYO had LTI (Leadership Training Institute) last weekend. We spent a lot of time learning how we can better improve our chapter, learned what our leadership style is, played capture the flag, and had a council meeting. I got closer with a lot of the girls in my chapter. This year is going to be seriously amazing. I'm so excited for all this year has in store!

I know this post is crazy late. I've been with the insanity of a new school year. One of my friends is sleeping over, I'm going to an art exhibit, and I have a BBYO program this weekend. It's definitely going to be a fun weekend.

Step Into My Week: Sleepovers, Volunteering, & BBYO

This week was a great week. I got to see a bunch of my friends that I hadn't seen in a few months. It was amazing to finally see them. I seriously love my friends so much. They're the best.

I was in Asheville Monday through Wednesday, so I got to spend a bunch of time with my family. My cousin, Chloe, had just gotten back from camp on Monday. I loved hearing all about her adventures, her new friends, and how excited she is for next year already. Camp is seriously the best!

On Tuesday, I spent all day with Chloe. We ran a few errands with our Grandma before heading back home. We had a delicious lunch at Sunny Point. I got an amazing tofu chorizo dish. I definitely want to go back again. I ended up sleeping over at Chloe's house, since we were having so much fun together.

On Friday and Saturday, I had orientation for a volunteer program I'm in. I'm so pumped to see all that we're going to do this year. The people in my group are all so talented and passionate. I love being around passionate people.

Saturday night was my BBYO chapter's kickoff. I loved seeing all my friends and hearing all about their amazing summers. My friends and I ended up just sitting around and talking for 3 hours. It was so great to catch up with them.

It was such a great week to see all my friends and family. I absolutely adore the people in my life.

Step Into My Week: Shoot the Hooch, Hiking, & Swimming Holes

This summer has been pretty great. I've gotten to experience so many things. This week was no exception.

I had my last week of work at camp. I had an amazing time with my campers. I'm definitely going to miss them.

On Thursday, I shoot(ed) the hooch (floated down the Chattahoochee river). I had a complete blast with my friends. None of my friends expected our route to have as many rapids as it was, so it was definitely a surprise.

I got to go on a gorgeous hike with my dad on Saturday. We hiked to an old mill that was beautiful. I loved seeing the rushing water in the river.

I got a major haircut on Saturday. I cut 6 or 7 inches off. I was definitely a little nervous while my hair was getting cut. I absolutely love my new haircut.

On Sunday, I went to a swimming hole with my friend. We went to Sweetwater State Park. The water was the perfect temperature. I had a great time sliding down the rocks and swimming.

Step Into My Week: Kiawah Island, Charleston, & Family Visits

This past week was jam packed. I absolutely love staying busy. I always try to stay busy. In the summertime, I want to be making the most of my break from school. I definitely made the most of summer this week.

To start off the week, my Grandma came into town. We had a great time together. My mom actually thought she was driving in on Saturday because she misread her text. It was pretty hilarious to find out my Grandma showed up at my door and completely spooked my mom.

My phone had been acting up for about a week on Friday. Luckily, I had an Apple appointment to get it fixed. The guy helping us gave me a new phone for free. That was pretty sweet.

We ended up having a pretty chill weekend of hanging out. We took my Grandma to Ponce City Market. I absolutely adore the mushroom bao buns from the Korean place. They let me buy a few bao buns. I was snacking on them for the rest of the week. They're so good.

On Sunday, we ventured out to a cute home decor and art store that had just opened up in the Westside. They had amazing art and pillows I want in my room. After that, we went to Upbeet, the place you've seen all over Atlanta Instagram feeds. The food was fantastic. The Vegan salad completely knocked it out of the park with the delicious tofu. I'm definitely going back.

I've been working at a camp for a while now. My campers are truly the best. I love seeing their faces light up as we go on adventures. Sadly, I only got to spend Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday with them, since I was going to Kiawah Island.

My uncle had a work conference that was in Kiawah Island, so he invited me along to babysit my cousin. I had an absolutely amazing time. The weather was amazing considering it's normally miserably hot and humid.

We ended up spending most of our time at the pool. They have some gorgeous pools. I loved the view of the beach from a pool. Seriously, the views were amazing. Plus, my cousin really loved the food at the pool.

Board games are the best anytime of the year, but at the beach they're even better. My cousin, Claire, and I ended up spending an entire morning playing Uno, Monopoly, Chess, Trouble, and Sorry. I could play Uno for hours.

We rented bikes while we we're in Kiawah. It was great to be able to go everywhere. The bike ride from the place we stayed at to the pool was gorgeous. I definitely want to ride my bike more after this week.

The best part of the week was seeing my friend, Bekka, from BBYO. She's incredibly kind hearted, loving, and an all around blast to hang out with. We had lunch at a delicious cafe called Five Loaves in Mt. Pleasant before adventuring into downtown Charleston. Charleston is just lovely. I loved all the brightly colored buildings. Everyone seemed so happy to be in such a beautiful city.

That's it for this week. I've definitely been slacking in the blog world. I'm hoping to get back to blogging more frequently soon. I end up so tired each night after working at camp all day.
